Mexico, Jan 18 (EFE) .- Swedish boxer Badu Jack, World Boxing Council (WBC) super middleweight champion, vacated that title as he aspires to compete for the light heavyweight crown, the body reported today in a statement.
In his last fight, last Saturday, Jack drew after an intense fight against the British James DeGale that they played in Brooklyn, New York.
The WBC, which is based in this capital, indicated that it received information from Jack in which he announced his decision to “move up a division to compete at light heavyweight” and consequently “the super middleweight title has been declared vacant.” .
The body said “extremely proud” of Jack and recalled that he is his ambassador of goodwill and peace and has always distinguished himself by having an extraordinary behavior in and out of the ring.
So far, the Swede holds a record of 24 fights, with 20 wins, 12 on the fast track, one loss and three draws. EFE
