Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka was released from a New York hospital after being hit the day before by a line from Giancarlo Stanton in training at Yankee Stadium, Major League Baseball club officials confirmed.
The Yankees star was hit in the head and immediately collapsed to the ground where he remained for several minutes.
“Tanaka had concussion-like symptoms that have since dissipated. He underwent a series of tests at the hospital, but everything went well, “said Yankees manager Aaron Boone.
Boone added that Tanaka has been placed on the “concussion protocol” for follow-up treatment.
