Former Chelsea and England captain John Terry has decided to leave his position as assistant manager at Aston Villa to become head manager at another club, the Birmingham Premier League team announced.
Terry, 40, came to Villa at the start of the 2017/18 season. He played 32 games and later became Dean Smith’s assistant.
“It was an honor and a privilege to spend these last three years at Aston Villa but I feel that it is the right time to make the extremely difficult decision to move on to something else,” Terry explained in a statement.
The former center-back does not want to start preparing for a new season without being sure of finishing it. He intends to spend time with his family first and then visit clubs throughout Europe, for his “goal of being a coach.” AFP (HN)
