The Brazilian Marcelo (Lyon), relegated to the subsidiary for bad behavior

The Brazilian center-back Marcelo, who has started at Olympique Lyon for the last four seasons, has been relegated to training with the subsidiary as a punishment for his bad behavior in the dressing room at the end of Sunday’s league defeat against Angers (3-0).

“The sports management of Olympique de Lyon (led by the Brazilian Juninho Pernambucano) reminds all its players that they must have a firm behavior and commitment to achieve, without further delay, the results that respond to the ambitions of the club,” said this Tuesday the club in a statement.

Marcelo Antonio Guedes Filho, 34, was one of the negative protagonists against Angers (the sports newspaper L’Équipe gave him a 1 out of 10). The Brazilian also scored an own goal.

According to the press, the central had an inappropriate behavior with a colleague, whose identity was not revealed.

The media assumes that the club, coached by Dutchman Peter Bosz, will briefly part ways with the Brazilian trained at Santos and former PSV Eindhoven, Hannover 96 and Besiktas.

The defender, born in San Vicente (São Paulo state), renewed this 2021 for two seasons, until June 2023. EFE (HN)
