The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has reported that during a meeting held on Friday at its headquarters in Paris it agreed that from 2021 the current hybrid engines (power units) of Formula One cars will be less expensive and their sound.
The “wish” of the FIA ​​is “to maintain Formula One as the technological pinnacle of motorsports” and “as a laboratory for technological development that can be reflected in road cars.”
To do this, he wants that from the 2021 season “the power units are powerful, while being simpler and less expensive in their development and production.”
Another objective is “to increase the sound of the engines” and that “the pilots can be aggressive in driving at all times”.
The FIA ​​reports that on Friday its president, Frenchman Jean Todt, met with the current Formula One manufacturers and with representatives of other brands not involved in the category. EFE
