The Mexican Cuadras wants revenge with the Nicaraguan ‘Chocolatito’ González
Mexican Carlos ‘Príncipe’ Cuadras said today in Managua that he wants a rematch with Nicaraguan Román “Chocolatito” González, who snatched the super flyweight title from the World Council on September 10. Boxing (CMB).
“I want a rematch with the Chocolatito, from my heart I say it, and I ask God to win the ‘Chocolatito’ to the Thai Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, said Cuadras upon arriving in Managua, where he will participate in a tribute to former world champion Alexis Argüello.
Mexican Cuadras, a contender for the interim WBC super flyweight title along with his compatriot Juan Francisco Estrada, is confident that he will be world champion again.
The Council ordered the fight between the two highest-ranked fighters, Cuadras and Estrada, because the current champion, Thai Rungvisai and ‘Chocolatito’ González, will clash again for the title next September.
«It is the era of the small weights, we give a better show than the big weights. With ‘el Gallo’ (Estrada) there will be a tough fight. Here I have the medicine for ‘El Gallo’ “, Cuadras said, showing his fists to the press.
On the same evening, in September, ‘Chocolatito’, Rungvisai, Cuadras and Estrada will be fighting.
Cuadras was targeted as a rival to Rungvisai, whom he beat on May 31, 2014 in Mexico, but the Thai’s victory over González left the Mexican with no options.
Cuadras has a record of 36 wins, 27 before the limit, a loss and a draw. EFE
