Track cycling legend, will be tested in rallycross

The British Chris Hoy, six times Olympic gold in track cycling and retired from the velodromes since 2013, will contest the second round of the World Rallycross in Montmeló (Barcelona), on April 27 and 28, the organizers announced on Thursday.

“I really want to”, says Hoy in a statement. “Driving a rallycross car has always been on my list of goals, but racing against the best in the world will be something really special, a huge challenge,” he said.

Since his sporting retirement, Hoy has participated in several motorsport races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 category, in 2016, where he finished in seventeenth place.
