Two rounds and a fine to Osimhen for slapping a rival

The Sporting Judge of the Italian Serie A (First Division) punished Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, Naples striker, with two days of suspension and a 5,000 euro fine for slapping an opponent in his team’s last league match against him Venice.

The Sports Judge sanctioned Osimhen, the most expensive signing in the history of Naples (almost 70 million euros), for “voluntarily hitting an opponent’s face with a slap when the ball was out of reach,” read the release from the Serie A League.

For that foul, Osimhen was sent off in the 23rd minute of the first match of Serie A, which ended with a 2-0 victory for Napoli against newly promoted Venice.

The Nigerian forward will miss next day’s Genoa visit and also the Italian classic against Juventus, Napoli’s historic rival.
