With a looming hole in their rotation, the Mets agreed to acquire left-hander Rich Hill from the Rays for minor league catcher Matt Dyer and reliever Tommy Hunter, according to multiple sources.
The 41-year-old Hill was scheduled to pitch for Tampa Bay on Saturday, but now he could get on the mound that day or Sunday for the Mets. This season, Hill is 6-4 with a 3.87 ERA, although he is 5.49 in his last seven starts.
Right now, the Mets are without the services of injured starters like Jacob deGrom, Carlos Carrasco, David Peterson and Joey Lucchesi. (MLB in Spanish)
