Vettel will start last in the Malaysian GP

Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), eliminated in the first round of the Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix classifications due to a mechanical problem, will start in the last position of the starting grid.

The quadruple world champion, currently second in the championship behind Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), was unable to complete a single timed lap in Q1.

Between the third free practice session and qualifying, Vettel was forced to change the car engine, damaged after an accident in Singapore two weeks ago.

The German, who was slow to get back on track during Q1, was quickly forced to return to the pits due to turbo problems.

“Unfortunately, there was a problem with the turbo pressure. And the team did an incredible job to change the engine, “Vettel lamented.

All of this is a serious blow to Vettel, with six races remaining until the end of the F1 season.

The German is 28 points behind Hamilton, who took advantage of the abandonment of the Ferrari driver just after the start of the Singapore GP to establish the biggest difference in points this year between the two men.
