Victor Oladipo could miss next season

A little over a week ago, Victor Oladipo underwent surgery became official, being ruled out for the rest of this season.

The course has not given respite to the guard, who has passed through Indiana, Houston and Miami in just five months.

And now there are serious threats that his right quadriceps injury will force him to miss the entire season ahead.

As reported by Brian Wndhorst on his podcast for ESPN, the only thing missing is for the player himself to make it public to make the news official. The tragedy adds to the mountain of disappointments that Oladipo has had to live in the last two years, in which his ailments have not left him alone.

Personally, the pessimism is double for having rejected two extensions that are hardly going to be offered to him during his recovery.

The player passed up the 84 million dollars for four years that the Pacers offered him and the 45 million for two years that Houston put on the table. Oladipo was confident that he could regain a sustainable performance that would secure him a long-term contract, and Miami seemed like the perfect destination to take off. But misfortune has struck him again.

His current contract ends this summer, when he will become an unrestricted free agent. The injury is a serious blow to his negotiating ability, as there are too many doubts about his physical condition. If the estimated deadlines are finally met, the player would be healthy again after reaching 29 years of age. The logical thing to do would be to wait for a two-year undersigned in hopes of earning his last major contract by the end of the 2022-23 season. The future does not look very bright for a player who until recently was a star in the making. (GG) (NBA Maniacs)
