Vidal: “We risk our lives against Venezuela”

The Chilean team midfielder Arturo Vidal said that in this Thursday’s match against Venezuela La Roja “is risking life” if it wants to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“We know that we are risking our lives against Venezuela and we will try to do our best to continue improving what was done against Paraguay,” Vidal said in statements to the National Professional Football Association (ANFP) of Chile.

The Chilean team coached by Martín Lasarte will come to this match after having won the second victory over Paraguay in the entire qualifying phase, 2-0.

The result brought a ball of oxygen to the group and the hope of still being able to qualify for the World Cup, despite the fact that it is still six points away from the direct qualification positions and five from the play-off.

In addition, Venezuela, who is last in the qualifying rounds, will also arrive after achieving an important 2-1 victory against Ecuador that allows them to continue dreaming of the World Cup.

“Venezuela comes with confidence, got a good result, they still have the illusion of qualifying, but we are also very happy,” said Vidal about it.

For his part, the Chilean team midfielder Luis Jiménez, also in statements to the ANFP, valued the importance of the victory against Paraguay and assured that with a new victory against Venezuela La Roja can reach the World Cup.

“We know that with a new victory we get into the fight again so we are going to go with everything,” said Jiménez.
