Warriors optimistic after losing first Final match to Raptors

The Golden State Warriors, champions three of the last four years, remain optimistic despite losing the first game of the NBA Final against the Toronto Raptors.

«An encounter does not define a series. Of course, it would have been more interesting for us to win 1-0 but it is a challenge to be behind (on the scoreboard), “Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry explained this Saturday at a press conference.

“Now we have the opportunity (on Sunday) to go looking for a victory that will bring us home with a 1-1 result. It is what the whole team would like after having started the series out, “continued the triple champion.

The Warriors, who are playing their fifth consecutive Final, fell in the first game 118-109 in Toronto. It is the first time Golden State has trailed 1-0 on the scoreboard in the last instance since coach Steve Kerr took over the team in 2014.

“We know what we have to do to win the second game: come out with energy and stay focused during the 48 minutes,” said Curry.

“We are in the Final and we can still win the title. That is why we get up in the morning and it is what makes us smile. We believe in ourselves 100%. The first team to win four wins, not the first to get one, ”added guard Klay Thompson.
