The World Boxing Council (WBC) declared the Fighter of the Month proclamation void due to low activity in December and adjusted its rankings in anticipation of Floyd Mayweather’s successors in the welterweight and super welterweight divisions.
The Americans Danny García and Robert Guerrero will fight this January 23 for the welterweight title and the Super welterweight crown will be defined in Jermell Charlo’s fight against John Jackson, announced the WBC.
In the rankings for the first month of 2016, both titles are vacant, as is the recognition of Boxer of the Month due to the low activity in December, a source from the CMB explained to Efe.
