The Germans Marco Wittmann and Timo Glock, both with BMW M4s, achieved victory in the two races of the second round of the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) held this weekend at the Austrian circuit of Spielberg and after which the British Paul di Resta (Mercedes) continues as the leader of the contest.
Wittmann won the first race ahead of Britain’s Tom Blomqvist (BMW M4) and Italian Edoardo Mortara (Audi RS5). Glock won the second against two Audi drivers, the Swedish Mattias Ekström and the British Jamie Green.
Despite adding only six points from a fourth place in the first heat, Di Resta continues to lead the general classification. The Briton claimed his victory and his fourth place in the first round of the DTM.
Among the Spanish, Miguel Molina (Audi) added a nineteenth and a fourteenth, while Dani Juncadella (Mercedes) abandoned the first race and was twelfth in the second. EFE
