Yadier Molina agrees to extension with San Luis

The Cardinals reached an agreement Tuesday for a one-year, $ 10 million contract extension with Puerto Rican wide receiver Yadier Molina, according to a report by Katie Woo of The Athletic.
Molina, 39, has spent his entire 18-year career with the Cardinals, winning nine Gold Gloves and two World Series (2006, 2011).
He was a free agent last year, but ended up returning to St. Louis with a one-season, $ 9 million deal in February.
Molina was called up to his 10th All-Star Game this year and began Tuesday night hitting .259 / .304 / .376 with eight homers and 51 RBIs in 94 games, including 91 starts behind the plate.
In April, Molina became the first mask in American and National League history to host 2,000 games with a team and recently surpassed Albert Pujols as the fourth on the Cardinals hit list. In his career, the Puerto Rican has 2,089 hits, 168 home runs, 397 doubles, 983 RBIs and a .734 OPS. (MLB in Spanish)
