The winner of this series will face the winner of the National League championship between the defending champions Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, which favors the latter 2-0.

The Yankees are looking to reach the World Series for the first time since 2009, when they beat the Philadelphia Phillies.

For their part, the Astros do it for the first time since 2005, when they played for the National League, and lost to the Chicago White Sox. AFP
