Yankees beat Mariners and continue with wild-card ticket

The New York Yankees beat the Seattle Mariners in the Major Leagues with a score of 6 × 3 thanks to a three-run homer by center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury and pitching by Sonny Gray.

Ellsbury drove in four total runs and Gray (8-8) allowed just one run and three hits with nine strikeouts delivered.

This was Gray’s 11th start in which he barely allowed a run.

The only touchdown allowed by Gray was a homerun by Panamanian catcher Carlos Ruiz.

Ellsubury’s homer went against Mexican starter Yovani Gallardo (5-10), finally defeated.

Dominican second baseman Starlin Castro, who returned this week from the disabled list, added an unstoppable two-touchdown RBI to the New York win.
