The Colombian Yuberjen Martínez secured today the silver medal in the light fly category (49kg) at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla by convincingly defeating the Mexican Yoali Mejía.
During the three rounds of the fight, in the Jumbo Room of the Country Club, the Colombian made a display of his technical capabilities with a defensive style that the Mexican could not decipher and that left him at the mercy of the opponent’s blows.
“We have already secured the silver medal and this is the result of work and training and, with the grace of God, we are going for the gold medal I have dreamed of,” Martinez said at the end of the fight. EFE
