Yankees reliever Zack Britton underwent Tommy John surgery and, in addition, the left-hander had bone debris removed from his pitching elbow.
Both procedures will keep Britton out of action for the majority of 2022.
Britton went through a disappointing 2021 campaign that began after a tough battle with COVID-19 in which she lost 18 pounds.
Then an operation to remove a bone spur interrupted his Spring Training before suffering a hamstring strain.
The New York team also announced that right-hander Jameson Taillon was placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to September 7, due to a right ankle condition. (MLB in Spanish)
