The Los Angeles Dodgers added pitcher Trevor Bauer a few days ago, making him the richest player in all of MLB for the next two seasons.
However, it was not all additions to Chavez Ravine, as several fan favorites saw the team leave, such as Kike Hernández and slugger Joc Pederson, with the latter resentful leaving his lifelong team.
Through The Player’s Tribune, Joc Pederson wrote a farewell letter to the Dodgers and the mixed emotions about leaving a place he loves so much and the possibilities that are opened to him when facing a new challenge.
After 10 years with the Dodgers, I signed a one-year deal last week to play for the Cubs, and the emotions I feel right now are quite intense.
On the one hand, I am more than ready for this new challenge in my career, but on the other, if you spend 10 years somewhere, saying goodbye becomes difficult. You make friends for life, create great memories. Those things are hard to let go.
Pederson was drafted by the Dodgers in 2010 and made his Big Top debut in 2014, where he amassed .230 career average with 130 home runs, 303 RBIs, and 10.6 WAR. (GG) (Al Bat)
