The Belgium coach, Roberto Martínez, acknowledged on Tuesday that the captain of the “Red Devils”, Eden Hazard, a Real Madrid player, is having a fateful 2020, but he trusted that next year will be successful for the footballer.
“We wanted to see him play for Belgium in 2020. He has had bad luck. But I think that 2021 is going to be a great year for Eden Hazard and for all the fans,” Martínez said at a press conference before facing Denmark in the Nations League.
The coach trusted that Hazard, weighed down in 2020 by successive injuries, first, and by the coronavirus, will later recover “his best version.”
At the same press conference, the Belgian and Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said he was in contact with his partner but assured that he does not know if he still tests positive for PCR.
“Hopefully the virus is almost gone,” said the goalkeeper, who acknowledged that the Belgian captain’s absence is “a shame for him and for the group.”
“But we have enough quality to do what we have to do,” added the goalkeeper.. EFE. (JL).
