Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter will testify before Swiss prosecutors on Aug. 9 at a final hearing in the case of the suspicious payment to Michel Platini, his spokesman said on Thursday.
The epilogue of this case, which ended up breaking the race in the offices of both former leaders, has been delayed for several months due to the state of health of Blatter, who was hospitalized in December and January, and who had to undergo heart surgery.
Blatter, 85, is now “fit for questioning, at most two hours a day” and will give his statement on August 9 in Zurich before prosecutor Thomas Hildebrand, his spokesman announced to AFP, confirming information from the French newspaper. Le Monde.
“If more time is needed, you can also respond to the magistrate the next day,” but “also for a maximum of two hours,” the same source specified.
It would be a last hearing for the former FIFA president before the closure of this investigation, opened in 2015 and which caused them to be accused of “unfair management”, “abuse of trust” and “fraud”. (AFP)
