Fernando Alonso has insisted that he made the right decision by leaving Ferrari even though McLaren has yet to live up to his expectations. Fernando tells on the F1i.com portal that the situation in Maranello had become too tense:
“In 2014 I made that decision because I felt it was the right thing to do, even though I still had two more years on my contract. Every year there was a little more stress because you don’t win and it seems like it’s your fault “
Alonso affirms that to achieve his third championship he had to leave Ferrari and underlines that there are only two teams capable of giving him a winning car to achieve that goal:
“In terms of driving, being competitive or my hopes of achieving the third world championship, it is only possible driving for McLaren or Mercedes. That is my opinion and that is what I feel “
Of course, Fernando has very good memories of his time at Ferrari (the bad ones from his last stage he prefers to forget them) and ensures that he is not at all comforted by seeing his former team far from achieving the world title:
“For me it is no relief that they are not winning or that they have problems. I do not wish Ferrari any problems because it is a team that I will always have in my heart “(Taken from blogs.20minutos.es)
