Salah does not want to leave Liverpool

Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah said he wants to continue at Liverpool for the rest of his career but that the success of the negotiations for a renewal of his contract “does not depend” on him.

Before Liverpool visit Manchester United on Sunday, Salah, who is having an excellent start to the season, discussed his future with the television network Sky Sports.

It is not up to me. But if you ask me, I would very much like to stay here until the last day of my career, “he said.

But I don’t have much to say, it’s not in my hands. It depends on what the club wants, it doesn’t depend on me, “he said.

The current contract of the ‘Pharaoh’ (29 years) with the ‘Reds’ ends in 2023 and the club is currently trying to close a new long-term commitment. According to the British press, the player wants a big salary increase, which would make him one of the best paid in the English championship.

Should the negotiations fail, Salah could seek new horizons. Real Madrid has sounded in recent months as an eventual destination.

Taking into account all the competitions since the start of this season, Salah has signed twelve goals in eleven games. AFP (HN)
