WBC asks to vote for onyx or emeralds for Mayweather-Pacquiao winner’s belt

The World Boxing Council (WBC) called for a vote on social networks to choose between onyx and emeralds to embellish the belt that the winner of the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will receive.

“Big boxing fans will have the opportunity to choose the one-of-a-kind championship belt that the winner of this historic fight will receive, being a reminder of their prowess,” the WBC said in a statement.

The decision that the fans express through social networks will be the one that determines the belt that the WBC will deliver to the winner on May 2 in Las Vegas (Nevada, United States).

“Option one will be the champion’s belt made with Onyx stone, while option two will be a slightly more schist belt, just imagine the famous green and gold sash with emerald inlays,” explained the agency.

Mayweather is the current WBC Welterweight Champion and Super Welterweight Champion.
