Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui admitted that losing 3-2 to Borussia Dortmund is “a negative result”, but warned that “we are going to Germany with enthusiasm and ambition.”
“Whenever you lose it is a negative result, it is not what we wanted. They have punished us forcefully for some of our mistakes, “said Lopetegui after this first leg of the Champions League round of 16.
“We did not deserve to lose, but in the end they have one of the best players in the world (Erling Haaland) up front who has made a difference in three situations that we could have avoided. It is a very harsh punishment, “said Lopetegui.
“In the second half we pushed better, we changed some things and we deserved to draw,” said the Sevilla coach to the Movistar Champions League platform after the game.
“We are left with the positive things, the mentality of the boys, perhaps we are left with that bad taste in our mouths, but with the feeling that the team has overcome a bad moment of the game and we go with enthusiasm and ambition to win at Germany ”, assured Lopetegui.
“The referee has set a very high bar in aggressiveness, it is something that is allowed in Europe but not in domestic competition, and you have to adapt very quickly. Maybe we lacked that adaptation at the beginning, “added the Sevilla coach. AFP (HN).
